ORIGINS OF THE “MOCHILAS”
Some Amazonian crops and forests enjoy the ¨Arrendajo´s¨ presence: this is a black colored bird with yellow strips, a stretched pecker and light eyes.
It stands out because of its ability to ´weave´ their nests between the trees. This has been an inspiration on multiple native communities for their indigenous knitting. This bird doesn’t hide its attraction for the white pulp, of exotic taste, from one of the most versatile cocoas in the region: the Copoazú.
