The family that lives through Camu Camu
“I don’t want to be rich, I want to have little, to be able to share with my friends and those who ask me” was the request that grandfather Germán made to God when he arrived in the Colombian Amazon and that which been fulfilled over the years, thanks to the cultivation of Camu Camu.
He and his family have been cultivating this fruit for many years and as an agroforestry activity it requires many hands and feet willing to go through the trees where it grows. The fruit has served as their livelihood and as it gains fame it not only puts Puerto Leguízamo, their town, on the map, but also allows them to dream of growing and expanding in a business with great possibilities.
